TERMS AND CONDITIONS
UPDATED JUNE 2026

The following terms and conditions form the basis upon which driving tuition is provided by Roadstar Driving. By booking lessons, you agree to accept these terms.
1. Driving Licences & Fitness to Drive
You must hold a valid driving licence, provisional, full or international and present it on or before your first lesson. You must also be medically and legally fit to drive at all times.
2. Payments
All lesson fees must be paid in advance. Payment is accepted in cash.
3. Cancellations
Roadstar Driving operates a strict 48‑hour cancellation policy.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged at the full lesson rate. Roadstar Driving reserves the right to determine what constitutes a reasonable reason for cancellation.
Your instructor will make every effort to ensure lessons start and finish on time but may cancel, postpone or adjust lesson times in certain circumstances (e.g., dangerous weather). Any prepaid fees will be carried forward.
The instructor may cancel a lesson at short notice if they believe you are unfit to drive due to alcohol, drugs (prescribed or otherwise), or any condition that could make driving unsafe or illegal. In such cases, the full lesson fee will still apply. The instructor also reserves the right to request a breath test if necessary.
4. Lesson Duration
Lessons are a minimum of one hour. If the instructor is delayed, they will attempt to notify you. Delays of more than 15 minutes will be added to the lesson where possible or credited to a future session.
5. Training Location
Lessons will start and finish at Tywyn Train Station Car Park (unless otherwise stated). Your instructor will choose suitable training locations to ensure safety for both you and the public. This may require the instructor to drive you to and from the practice area; this travel time forms part of the paid lesson.
6. Training Vehicles
Roadstar training vehicles are fully taxed, insured for tuition, roadworthy and fitted with dual controls.
If you wish to use your own vehicle, you must provide proof from your insurer confirming that the car is covered for paid professional instruction. The vehicle must also be taxed and hold a valid MOT where required.
7. Driving Tests & Bookings
Your instructor reserves the right to refuse the use of Roadstar’s vehicle for the driving test if they believe it may compromise public safety.
When using Roadstar’s car for your test, the booking period will follow the instructor’s diary schedule. Depending on the test time, a minimum three‑hour booking may be required.
While every effort is made to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy at the start of the test, Roadstar Driving cannot be held responsible for mechanical failure during the test or any resulting loss.
Roadstar Driving is not responsible for DVSA test cancellations due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, lesson and car‑use fees for the booked period will still apply. Your instructor will advise you on how to claim compensation from the DVSA.
